How to Seam an Eyelet Panel
Moc An KnitsIn this tutorial, I’m showing you how to seam an eyelet panel neatly while keeping the beautiful eyelet pattern looking continuous across the join.
It’s so much fun working with this eyelet pattern, and the best part is that it’s super easy too! Once you understand where to place your needle and how to follow the structure of the stitches, the seam comes together quite naturally.
When working with an eyelet pattern, I find it helpful to take a little time to look at the rows before you start seaming. Following the eyelets and keeping the pattern aligned will make a big difference to the finished result. Try not to pull the yarn too tightly as you sew- the seam should sit flat and have the same relaxed feel as the knitted fabric.
This technique is especially useful when you need to join eyelet panels, lace knitting pieces, scarves, bags, or other knitted pieces while keeping the decorative pattern looking clean and balanced.
And if you’re making the project featured in this tutorial, the pattern is available in all my shops. I hope you enjoy knitting it as much as I enjoyed designing it!
Happy Knitting!
